Colorado Measures of Academic Success
Scholar performance on the Colorado Academic Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math are measured statewide by the Colorado Measures of Academic Success assessment (CMAS), and is measured in two ways: Achievement, and Growth. “Achievement” refers to the percentage of scholars performing at or above grade level. “Growth” refers to how much academic growth occurred between the last assessment and the most recent one. The data we have available is for ELA Grades 3, 5, and 7; whereas the data we have for Math is for Grades 4, 6, and 8.
While we have current, post-lockdown achievement data from 2021, the last time the state was able to properly assess growth was on the 2019 CMAS, since no CMAS was given in 2020.
