Crew
At AXL Academy, every scholar is part of a Crew, a small learning community where meaningful relationships are built every day. Crew provides a place for scholars to feel known, supported, and encouraged while developing leadership skills, setting goals, celebrating successes, and growing together. Through daily Crew meetings, scholars build confidence, strengthen friendships, and develop the character needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Character Development
Character development is woven into every part of the AXL experience. We believe academic success begins with strong character. Every day, scholars practice the values that help them become respectful, responsible, and engaged members of their school and community.

Social Emotional Learning
Every school day includes dedicated time for scholars to strengthen the social and emotional skills that help them succeed in school and in life. Through Crew, team building activities, reflection, goal setting, and meaningful conversations, scholars develop empathy, resilience, communication skills, and self awareness while learning how to build healthy relationships.
Restorative Practices
At AXL Academy, we believe discipline should help scholars grow, not simply punish mistakes. Our restorative approach teaches scholars to take responsibility for their actions, repair relationships, and learn from challenges.
Through restorative conversations, reflection, collaborative problem solving, and goal setting, scholars develop accountability, empathy, and the skills needed to make positive choices. Our focus is always on helping scholars grow into responsible, resourceful, and resilient members of our community while maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone.
Community
Community extends beyond the classroom. Scholars come together regularly through Community Meetings to celebrate achievements, recognize acts of character, set goals, and strengthen connections across grade levels. These shared experiences foster school pride, encourage leadership, and remind every scholar that they are part of something bigger than themselves.
