Dear AXL Families,
We wanted to give you an update on what to expect after the extended Spring Break. Starting on March 30, our teachers will be reaching out on Class Dojo to roll out Google Classroom. Using Google Classroom, your student will be able to complete work, submit assignments and further their education. We understand many of you are working from home with your children. The goal is not to increase your workload but to have independent learning (as much as possible) by your scholars as assigned by their teacher. If you would like additional work for your students, as always, we encourage you to speak with your scholar's crew leader directly. During this time grades will not be kept. We are aiming to create a safe and loving environment for your student to continue to learn.
+ Each day (Monday - Friday) there will be 60-90 minutes of work.
+ No additional technology is needed beyond a phone though the content can be accessed using a tablet or computer if your family has one available.
+ Our goal is to have the students feel connected to the school. Note: Some teachers will be utilizing zoom (video conferencing) during office hours. The office hours will be:
2-4: 10am- 12am
+ Google Classroom can be accessed via website or by an app downloaded to a phone. Reach out to your scholar's crew leader for the teacher code.
+ We do not have devices to loan out to families though we have requested free or highly discounted devices from local companies. If anything becomes available, we will communicate this as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience as we are all adjusting to online learning and will naturally have to work through potential challenges.
Note: We have decided to take an additional step to ensure the safety of all staff and students once we return. Our school has been disinfected but we are also having a fogger to our building next week which will clean the building of any and all bacteria and viruses that remain.
We hope you are well and we miss each and every one of you!
