Trimester 2 Clubs

Thank you for your interest in the 2nd Trimester After-School clubs! The clubs span 8 weeks unless noted otherwise and begin on December 3 through February 8 with no clubs during Winter Break (December 24 - January 7). Clubs will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fees vary for each club and the clubs are payable directly to the Crew Leader unless otherwise noted. Please note the end times for the clubs; we have a three strike and you’re out policy to respect the crew leader’s time. Snacks will not be provided; please pack an extra snack for your scholar on club days. Please return the forms by Friday, November 30.

Forms are available in the main office and will be sent home with scholars.

Girl Scouts (Grades KG - 8th) Fridays (alternating) from 3:00pm - 5:00pm in Ms. Cox’s classroom. Fee: $25*. Maximum number of scholars: 25. *Pay registration through the website at www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org. This is a year long program and includes two fundraising events to support our troop: fall product sales and cookies (in February). Parent volunteers are needed and welcome. Joining the Girl Scouts will also include monthly field trips (typically on weekends) and lots of opportunity for the girls to grow and become leaders in our community. At Girl Scouts, your girl will unleash her inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™! At Girl Scouts, she’ll get to lead her own adventure (it’s her world!) and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest her most. Along the way, she’ll gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), Outdoors, Life Skills and Entrepreneurship

Cooking Club (Grades 4th - 8th) Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm in the Elementary Teachers’ Lounge. Fee: $40. Maximum number of scholars: 10. Scholars will learn to cook and bake alongside Chef Max. Preparing scrumption foods from pizza to pancakes, cookies and quesaddilas. New menu items will be introduced and student chefs will ascertain kitchen techniques and safety. Bon appetit!

Drama Club (Grades 2nd - 8th) Mondays AND Thursdays from 3:00pm - 4:00pm in Ms. Gordon’s room. Fee: $30. Maximum number of scholars: 40. Scholars will have the opportunity be a cast member of a play, serve behind the scenes as costume and set designers, crew/stage managers, or help write/direct. At the end of the trimester, scholars will culminate with a performance for families and community members. Club is led by Ms. Evans.

Board Game Plus Club (Grades KG - 3rd) Mondays from 3:00pm - 4:00pm in Ms. Hernandez’s room. Fee: $20. Maximum number of scholars: 25. Students will play with various board game, card games, marble runs and magnetic tiles. Lots of hands of fun with scholars from K to 3rd grade! Club is led by Ms. Hernandez.

Yoga Club (Grades 3rd - 5th) Mondays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in Ms. Cox’s room. Fee: $30. Maximum number of scholars: 20. This club is designed to empower students through yoga, movement, and mindfulness. Along with learning about and practicing Hatha yoga (physical), we will explore mindfulness strategies we can incorporate into our daily routines. Snacks will be provided, as well as a brand new yoga mat to keep as your own! Club is led by Ms. Cox.

Spanish Club (Grades 1st - 3rd) Mondays from 3:15pm - 4:00pm in Ms. Duran’s room. Fee: $30. Maximum number of scholars: 16. Learn the fundamentals of conversation and reading in Spanish! Club is led by Ms. Duran.

Lego Galore Club (Grades PK - 1st) Tuesdays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in Ms. Zobeck’s room. Fee: $23. Maximum number of scholars: 14. This club is designed with LEGO themed activities - build and play! Club is led by Ms. Zobeck.

 

Moby Max/Educational Tech (Grades KG - 5th) Tuesdays from 3:15pm - 4:30pm in Mr. Farr’s room. Fee: $20. Maximum number of scholars: 30. Scholars will be using the iPads and computers to work on Moby Max, Typing Skills, Grade Specific Learning Programs/Apps, New Strategy, Problem Solving, and Puzzle Programs and Apps to help foster a fun and engaging learning experience. Scholars will be required to work on educational programs or apps for minimum of 45 of the session, leaving the last section for them to explore the programs and apps described above. Club is led by Mr. Farr.

Twinkle Toes Dance Club (Grades 1st - 4th) Thursdays from 3:15pm - 4:00pm in Coach A’s room. Fee: $30. Maximum number of scholars: 20. Twinkle Toes will include learning the fundamentals of Ballet, Jazz and Tap Dance. Students will spend the first 6 weeks emphasizing technique. The final two weeks scholars will learn a jazz dance combination. T3 Dance will consists of learning an entire dance routine to perform at the Spring talent show. Scholars must wear dance appropriate attire (clothes you can easily move in---leotard, tights/leggings, dance shoes or socks). Club is led by Ms. Mills.

Artistry in Motion Dance Club (Grades 5th - 8th) Tuesdays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in Coach A’s room. Fee: $40. Maximum number of scholars: 15. Artistry in Motion will include learning the fundamentals of Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary Dance. Students will spend the first 6 weeks emphasizing technique. The final two weeks scholars will learn a ballet and a contemporary dance combination. T3 Dance will consists of learning an entire dance routine to perform at the Spring talent show. Scholars must wear dance appropriate attire (clothes you can easily move in---leotard, tights/leggings, dance shoes or socks). Club is led by Ms. Crissie.

Strength & Conditioning Club (Grades 7th - 8th) Fridays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in District 12. Fee: $25. Maximum number of scholars: 16. Come get stronger and leaner, feel better, and be healthier. Led by a former college wrestler and competitive power lifter with 10 years in the health and nutrition industry. Bring shorts, t-shirts, gym shoes, and clothes for wearing outside when the weather permits. This class is perfect for 7th and 8th grade scholars of all experience levels and genders. Note: Starting Jan 11 for 8 weeks. Club is led by Finn & Mr. Pete.

Math Tutoring Club (Grades 1st - 4th) Thursdays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in the Intervention room. Fee: $20. Maximum number of scholars: 10. The purpose of this tutoring is to provide support for students with math basic skills so as to increase their iReady scores. If needed, I can also assist students with their math homework and/or math makeup work. Club is led by Ms. Allison.
