Trimester One Clubs

Thank you for your interest in the 1st Trimester After-School clubs! The clubs span 8 weeks unless noted otherwise and begin on September 5 through November 3. Note: There will be no clubs during Fall Break (October 16-20).


Club forms are available in the front office and were sent home with each scholar. Clubs will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees vary for each club & the clubs are payable directly to the Crew Leader unless otherwise noted. Please note the end times for the clubs; we have a three strike and you’re out policy to respect the crew leader’s time. Snacks will not be provided; please pack an extra snack for your scholar on club days. Please return the forms by Friday, September 1.

Kids 24/7 Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm. Club begins on September 20, 2017. Fee: Free. See separate flyer for more information.

Harry Potter Reading Club (Grades 4th - 8th) Tuesdays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm in the Elementary Intervention Room. Fee: $10. Maximum number of scholars: 15. Continuing with Year 2 of Harry Potter Reading Club by diving into Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. The club will be reading the book all year long, continuing through each Trimester.

Dance Club (Grades 2nd - 4th) Tuesdays from 3:30pm - 4:30pm in Ms. Capwell’s room. Fee: $25. Maximum number of scholars: 25. Dance club will be an infusion of ballet and jazz. It is very upbeat way to learn the foundations of ballet technique and dance principles.

Running Club (Grades 3rd - 6th) Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:15pm - 4:00pm in the Elementary Intervention Room. Fee: $40. Maximum number of scholars: 20. Boys & Girls welcome. Scholarships available.

Girls Volleyball Club (Grades 3rd - 4th) from 3:15pm - 4:00pm in Mr. A’s room. Fee $80. Maximum number of scholars: 20. Learn the fundamentals for volleyball. Please wear Shorts, Tennis Shoes and Knee Cap Guards (Safety Situation).

Spanish Club (Grades KG - 2nd) Mondays from 3:15pm - 3:45pm in Ms. Rivers’ classroom. Fee: Free. Maximum number of scholars: 25. Learn the foundation and fundamentals of Spanish.

Spanish Club (Grades 3rd - 5th) Thursdays from 3:15pm - 3:45pm in Ms. Rivers’ classroom. Fee: Free. Maximum number of scholars: 25. Learn the foundation and fundamentals of Spanish.

Mad Science Club (Grades KG - 5th) Thursdays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm in Mr. U’s Art room. Fee: $109*. Maximum number of scholars: 22. *Pay registration through the website at www.colorado.madscience.org. Experiment with the forces that give us super power while connecting with science and technology in this action-packed enrichment program from Mad Science! Check out the inner workings of telecommunication and assemble a sound-wave making device. Explore innovations in alternative and renewable energy and find out how cell phones use triangulation to communicate with towers. Discover how chemicals react and how catalysts can be used to speed up a reaction! Experiment with the forces that make our universe “tick” as we learn about gravity and inertia. Bring out the innovator and scientist in you!

 

Girl Scouts (Grades 2nd - 8th) Fridays (alternating) from 3:00pm - 5:00pm in Mr. Brooks’ classroom. Fee: $25*. Maximum number of scholars: 25. *Pay registration through the website at www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org. This is a year long program and includes two fundraising events to support our troop: fall product sales and cookies (in February). Parent volunteers are needed and welcome. Joining the Girl Scouts will also include monthly field trips (typically on weekends) and lots of opportunity for the girls to grow and become leaders in our community. At Girl Scouts, your girl will unleash her inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™! At Girl Scouts, she’ll get to lead her own adventure (it’s her world!) and team up with other girls in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that interest her most. Along the way, she’ll gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience:
    •    Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
    •    Outdoors
    •    Life Skills
    •    Entrepreneurship

Cooking Club (Grades 4th - 8th) Wednesdays from 1:30pm - 3:00pm in the Elementary Teachers’ Lounge. Fee: $40. Maximum number of scholars: 12. Scholars will learn to cook and bake alongside Chef Max. Preparing scrumptious foods from pizza to pancakes, cookies and quesadillas. New menu items will be introduced and student chefs will ascertain kitchen techniques and safety. Bon appetit!
